Contemporary

Contemporary art covers work being made right now, roughly from the late twentieth century to today, and it resists any single definition on purpose. Unlike earlier movements built around one shared style, contemporary art can mean anything: painting, sculpture, photography, digital work, or pieces that mix several mediums together. What often connects contemporary artists is less a visual style and more a willingness to question what art is for, or to respond directly to the world around them. This section gathers work from that space, where the only real rule is that there is no fixed rule left to follow.
