Mark Lague is a Canadian painter born in Montreal in 1964.
He developed a fascination with drawing as a child and studied design at Concordia University in Montreal. He began a 13-year career in the animation industry, working as a background designer and art director. During this time, he recieved international acclaim for his watercolour paintings through competitions and solo exhibitions. In 2000, he switched to oil as his primary medium, and in 2002 he became a full-time painter. He is known for his “painterly realism” and his ability to capture the essence of his subjects.
