Lana Privitera was born in Spain and graduated in 1983 from the Fine Arts School of Zaragoza, where she majored in Fashion Design and Art History. She worked in advertising for a few years before moving to the USA in the early 1990s. In the late 1990s, her detailed watercolors of New Jersey farms and towns won her recognition in the Tri-State area.

She returned to the art world after a long hiatus and joined several art groups in the Hudson Valley area. She is a Signature Member of the Northeast Watercolor Society, an Elected Member of the American Artist Professional League, and a former Elected Member of the New Jersey Watercolor Society. She has been an art educator for well over 15 years.

She currently teaches as an Art Instructor at the Wallkill River School of Art in Montgomery, New York. Her work continues to be exhibited and appreciated for its detailed and colorful style. She remains an active and influential figure in the regional art community.
