Andrei Belichenko was born in 1974 in Karaganda, Kazakhstan, and trained at the Republican Art School before entering the Academy of Arts. He studied in the Graphic Department, already showing a strong focus on detail and realism.
His dedication to technique earned him a Master of Fine Arts in five years instead of the usual six. Even with early pressure and a bit of unsertain moments, his talent pushed him forward quickly.

By the end of his studies he was already exhibiting in Russia and abroad. Regional and national shows in Kiev and Moscow helped build his name, and he later joined the All‑Union Artist Association.
Belichenko’s paintings entered museums and private collections across Russia, Ukraine, Germany, France, Spain, Canada, Brazil and England. His work slowly reached the United States as well, gaining new collectors.
He is known for strong realism, careful light and the emotional presence of his subjects. Even small misstakes in texture or tone add a human touch to his paintings.
His artworks have appeared at auctions many times, with prices ranging widely. The record so far is Seated Beauty, sold in 2014, showing how far his career has grown since those early academy days.
