Tina Spratt

Tina Spratt is a figurative painter drawn to quiet moments, small gestures and the soft intimacy of everyday life. She chases that “fleeting moment” Andrew Wyeth spoke about, not frozen, but alive with mood and breath.

She tries to get under the skin of her subjects, feeling the fabrics, the light, the stillness around them. Her paintings grow in thin layers, edges softened only where the story needs it, letting depth build slowly.

Light is one of her main tools. It shapes the room, hints at emotion, and sometimes becomes its own storyteller. She loves how Rembrandt, Vermeer and Wyeth used it, and those influences echo in her work.

Spratt focuses mostly on the female figure, often lost in thought or wrapped in textured fabrics. She aims to show beauty without staging it, just simple human closeness.

Born in England and trained in Illustration at Wolverhampton, she now lives in Somerset, working in oils and pastel. Her pieces have been finalists in the ARC Salon three times, earning an Honourable Mention in 2018.

She also won the Pastel Journal’s Pastel 100 Competition and appears in PoetsArtists shows and publications. Her work is represented by galleries in the UK and the US.

Her paintings continue to explore quiet rooms, soft fabrics and the inner worlds of her models, always chasing that honest, intimate moment.
