Ewa Lanrecz

Ewa Lanrecz is a Polish painter who lives and works in Poland. Her real name is Ewa Czernal-Suliga and Lanrecz is a nickname. She says painting comes from deep feeling and sensitivity, and for her art must first move the viewer, bring joy or anxiety or some emotion.

She works mostly in acrylic because it dries fast and suits her temperament, and she often paints flowers, still lifes and abstractions. Her process is spontaneous, she follows moods and music, does not plan a picture to the end, and lets each work grow in her mind and on the canvas.

Her influences include Monet, Cezanne, Degas and Klimt and many contemporary Polish painters she admires. She values freedom in painting, rejects strict rules and says she was never formally taught, so she feels free to experiment. Her advice to others is simple, keep your passion and never give up, and in five to ten years she dreams of showing in the best galleries.
