My name is Viktoria Rogotneva. I was born in 1969 in Frunze, Kirgizia (a former part of the USSR).
Most of my life I spent in sunny Uzbekistan (also a former part of the USSR). After having read many Jacques Yves Cousteau books, I went to the Saint Petersburg Oceanography Institute, but eventually graduated in 1996as a nuclear geophysicist at Sankt-Petersburg University. I now live in Saint Petersburg and work in real estate.
I have been always interested in travelling. When I was a high school student, I would often open the World Atlas and enjoy the bright pictures of various countries. I could not have imagined that only 20 years later I would already have had fantastic experiences travelling independently throughout many regions within Europe, Asia, America, Africa and Middle East.
Now I am absolutely sure that a person’s life is only formed by desires. Nowadays, travelling and photography are my most favorite hobbies. I enjoy organizing my own trips to the most isolated and most wild parts of the world and photograph these for my own satisfaction.
My list of countries visited to date include Algeria and Libya (Sahara), Yemen, Namibia, Zimbabwe, Zambia, RSA, Ethiopia, Laos, Cambodia, Burma, Vietnam, Honduras, Guatemala, Belize, USA, Peru, Bolivia, Chile, Argentina, Iceland, China In all, totalling 50 countries.
My main aim is not just to increase the number of countries visited, but to combine travelling and photography to experience fascinating adventures. On my website you can view and buy my photographs, as well as read notes from trips and find out more about my future travel projects and expeditions.
