Carmen Mansilla – Spanish Figurative Painter
Carmen Mansilla, born in Madrid, paints people the way we actually see them—quiet, thoughtful, sometimes lost in their own world. She used to work in design and illustration, and you can still kinda feel that in how she builds a scene.
Her paintings aren’t flashy. Just everyday folks—someone walking, a kid thinking, a woman resting. But there’s always a feeling, like you’ve seen that moment before but didn’t stop to notice it.
She studied in Florence and has shown her work in Spain and other places too. Her colors have gotten bolder over time, but the heart’s still the same. She once said Spain’s got great figurative artists, just not enough support. Still, she keeps going. Quiet, steady, real.
