Ted Dyer is one of the UK’s best known contemporary artists who has been exhibiting for over 40 years.
His work is acclaimed internationally through his many exhibitions, prints, art cards and books and he is probably Cornwalls most widely collected artist.Ted Dyer’s work is highly collectable and his original oil paintings are true modern classics, captivating in their choice of subject matter and beautiful use of paint. Ted Dyer is ‘The Cornish Impressionist’ that collectors will be pleased to have added to their collections as the value of original paintings inevitably rises.

Ted Dyer was born in Bristol in 1940. He has lived and worked for most of his life in the Westcountry. His younger years were spent in Devon and Somerset, in 1972 he moved with his family to Cornwall. Dyer paints places he knows well, portrayed with soft colour, light and shade. The feeling is of warmth and friendliness, a relaxed atmosphere, a day at the beach or in the countryside, a quiet corner of a room or boats resting in a harbour. He uses the subtle hues created by the early morning or evening sun to fill his canvas with that indefinably delicate touch. He takes great care with the composition of his paintings using the human figure as an integral part of the total scene.
