Waldemar J. Marszałek born on February 16, 1960 in Dobrzyca in Central Pomerania. Studies at the State Higher School of Fine Arts (now the Academy of Fine Arts ) in Gdańsk in the field of applied graphics. He obtained his diploma in 1985.
Immediately after graduation, he started teaching at the university, first as an assistant, now as a professor. During his studies and for many years after graduation, he practiced lithography and was involved in graphic design.
Since 1994, he works mainly in painting and drawing. In 2004, he started working on a series of works in digital technology. He has over 30 individual exhibitions and participated in over 200 collective exhibitions in Poland and abroad. He lives and works in Gdańsk.
Waldemar Marszalek was born in 1960, in Dobrzyca near Koszalin. In 1985 he graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Gdansk. He got his diploma from the Professor J. Krechowicz’s Graphic Arts studio. In the recent years he was Professor Paszkowski’s assistant in the studio of Artistic Printmaking of this Academy. The artist is an assistant professor of 2nd degree at this school of higher education, and since 2007 he is the head of his own studio of the Rudiments of Graphic Arts for first year students.
In 2005 Waldemar Marszalek celebrated the 20th anniversary of his artistic work in Triada Gallery. In 2008 Triada Art Gallery classified the artist in the “Kompas sztuki”, among the first hundred in the Ranking of Contemporary Polish Artists.
We close cooperate with him since early 90′, when he started his career. That’s why Triada has always big choice of his new pictures directly from his studio.
In 2010 he’ll be celebrate the 25th anniversary of his artistic work.
He had 8 solo exhibitition in our gallery. Last one 26th September – 10th October 2014.
Waldemar Jerzy Marszalek’s work has been offered at auction multiple times, with realized prices ranging from $726 USD to $3,792 USD, depending on the size and medium of the artwork. Since 2019 the record price for this artist at auction is $3,792 USD for Women, sold at Desa Unicum in 2021.
