Victoria Grigorieva is a professional graphic artist based in Kiev, Ukraine.

After graduating from the Ukrainian National Academy of Arts and Architecture in 1997, Victoria served as Head Art Director for the Ukrainian women’s magazine Natali and, after, held the same title at The Women’s Magazine. Her work has been exhibited in a number of national and international exhibitions, including the III Bienal Internacional de Nuevas Tecnicas en Acuarela Caudete 2014, participation in the World Watercolor Competition 2014 and is part of a number of private collections in Ukraine, Poland, Germany and the US.

Watercolor as a medium has always been an integral part of my education and professional life and I have continually striven to achieve mastery of the various techniques of this medium. I majored in graphic design at the National Academy of Fine Arts and Architecture in Kiev, Ukraine and served as Art Director of the women’s publications Natali and the Women’s Journal for 15 years before deciding to dedicate my time fully to painting in watercolor. Currently, I run a consultancy, providing art direction services and fine arts instruction.

The majority of my contemporary work is a result of diverse combinations of Wet-In-Wet, Dry Brush, Glazing and Wash techniques, with occasional experimental use of watercolor pencils and pastels. I find inspiration in the natural flora of the world around us and the people who surround us through the course of our daily lives. Being trained in the Classical style, I also incorporate A La Prima into my work and imprssionalism.
