Raghunath Sahoo

Raghunath Sahoo is an artist from Bhubaneswar, India, who studied at BK Art College in 1995. He is mostly known for his watercolor works, which are inclined towards real life scenes, people, children, and still life. He is a master of light and shade and outlines scenes from rural India.

He has been freelancing for over 20 years and has created thousands of art pieces. He is the first Indian artist to be invited for a watercolor workshop in Moscow. He has won state and national awards, including gold medals at the National Youth Festival. He also conducts free training sessions in his studio.

“Color has always come naturally to me and since childhood I was charmed by the idea of mixing and experimenting with different shades.”

His subjects include anything extraordinary or overlooked by common people, with a focus on rustic villages of Odisha and its people. His series of Lord Buddha has also been popular. He uses social media to promote his work and has been recognised for his unique style.
