Khairy Adam was born in southern Kurdistan in 1981 and graduated from the Institute of Fine Arts in Duhok.

He earned a Bachelor’s degree in Painting from Salahaddin University in Erbil in 2008 and later recieved his Master’s in contemporary realism from the Academy of Art University in San Francisco in 2015. He worked as an art teacher for seven years in different schools, including the Fine Arts Institute of Duhok.
His work explores the connection between Kurdish women and their traditional costumes, shedding light on the colors, symbols, and designs that carry deep societal meaning. He captures the inner mood and expression often overlooked in Kurdish culture, giving voice to the soul of the Kurdish woman.
