A silhouette can sometimes have more impact on your mind than a full scale visual. It was this silhouette of a Vulture against the backdrop of a setting sun which set me thinking about the survival and perpetuity of various species in today’s ecosystem.
The vulture, perched high on the top branch of a tree was gazing at the sun filling up the bright orange sky and probably thinking that while they were both on their way out, dying; the sun would indeed rise again.
With this image transforming into a permanent imprint in my mind, I wondered about the propensity of survival of the various ecologies in India and whether I would get a chance to see them in their unadulterated state again. Having a particular affinity towards my feathered and furry friends, I have been on a constant journey to various places situated in the lap of Nature seeking for nothing else but solace. These diaries are merely my attempt to share what I have seen, felt and experienced on my various voyages .
‘M a Travel Enthusiast, A Wildlife seeker, A Naturalist and a firm believer of the ‘nomadic lifestyle’ , Photographer, Birdwatcher, Reptile Handler, Animal Rescue Volunteer and a Lover of Art in its natural form. Being an ardent admirer of Landscapes and Cultures, I consider the object in front of my lens to be just as important as its surroundings which is why my photography involves keeping ‘The Observer Effect’ at its bare minimum. The pictures i take are nothing more than a reflection of nature and cultures captured through an Artificial Retina; distinction being, when the lens shutter closes, it imprints the picture in its memory forever while the same does not always hold true for the human eye. I consider my camera to be my extra eye which gives me a whole new perspective of seeing same things differently.. I live by Confucius’s idealogy; “Choose a job you love, and you will never have to work a day in your life.”, which is why I work at ‘ Darter’ . My job takes me to places far and wide; deep into the Forests and Wildlife Sanctuaries and right upto the brazen heights of the Himalayas- the places that are regaled by the beauty of nature and its natural inhabitants in its purest form. The best part of my job is that I get to enrich the lives of the participants by awing them with the sheer splendor of Mother Earth and helping them capture breathtakingly beautiful images which they can take back home
with them and cherish their memories for the rest of their life.
The need for my monthly ‘fix’ in the form of an adrenaline rush makes me go to extreme locations in search for adventure and hence my present location always keeps changing. That is why you will never find me at one place for more than a few weeks at a time. So if you’d like to get in touch with me, just drop me an email at firstname.lastname@example.org and I’ll get right back to you as soon as I can.
