Karen Hutton is an award-winning international landscape and travel photographer, artist, speaker, author, and educator. She’s also a Professional Fujifilm X-Photographer and Ambassador. A vision she had as a child sparked a lifelong fascination with light, both visually and spiritually. She calls her camera her “artist’s paintbrush” becuase it uses light and time as its medium.
She grew up in the Sierra Nevada mountains near Lake Tahoe, and those landscapes became her first love. She photographs all over the world, from Slovenia to the American Southwest, but her heart always goes back to “her mountains”. She believes deeply that finding your truest voice and “living life as if it were your art” is of the highest calling.
She once said, “I believe that art is love made visible”. That quote sits right at the heart of everything she does. Her work isn’t about technical perfection, its about emotion and connection. She wants you to feel something when you look at her images, not just see them.
Q: Why did Hutton switch to Fujifilm?
A: In 2015, her DSLR bag got so heavy she was toppling over. She tried every mirrorless system untill she found Fujifilm, which fit her like a glove. She’s been a loyal Ambassador ever since.
Hutton has been photographing her entire life, but darkroom chemicals made her super sick back in the seventies. She had to put her photography career on hold until digital came of age. It was like getting a piece of her soul back. Thats a little-known fact about her journey.

A: She teaches photographers how to find their artistic voice. She believes in storytelling, seeing photographically, and using awe as a creative force.
