Gary Niblett (born 1943, Carlsbad, New Mexico) is an American painter celebrated for his vivid portrayals of Western life. After studying at the Art Center College of Design in California, he began his career as a background artist at Hanna-Barbera Studios before dedicating himself fully to fine art in 1973.
Niblett became one of the youngest members of the Cowboy Artists of America in 1976 and has since earned multiple awards for his oil and watercolor paintings. Working from his studio in Santa Fe, Niblett captures the landscapes, cowboys, and Native American life of the Southwest with striking realism and warmth.
His mastery of light and atmosphere reflects both his technical skill and deep personal connection to the Western experience. His work has been exhibited internationally and remains a cornerstone of contemporary Western art.
