Emanuele Dascanio

Education and Career

Emanuele Dascanio was born in Garbagnate Milanese in 1983. After graduating from art school Lucio Fontana di Arese, in 2003 he enrolled at the Academy of Brera painting section: having learned to live in an environment decadent for the same painting, leave after six months.

Continuing, however, to have the desire and the need for artistic growth, in 2007 I began the study of Gianluca Corona, finding in him a good teacher and learning the technique of oil painting. He has participated in various competitions and exhibitions nationally and internationally, ranking near the top.

The Hyper-realism Drawing

Emanuele Dascanio is a perfectionist, he has devoted much time to the study of artistic techniques and the search for continuous improvement in his skills as a painter, before embarking on the exhibition schedule.

Interviews with Emanuele Dascanio

Photo or painting? The hyper-realism of Emanuele Dascanio

He is only 32 years old, yet his artistic career is already full of important awards. He is Emanuele Dascanio , enfant prodige of the Milanese pictorial panorama. The exhibition On the threshold of light , hosted by the Maimeri Foundation until 20 November, is dedicated to its impeccable technique .

The exhibition – the result of the meeting between the artist, the president of the Foundation and Massimo Candela, managing director of FILA – Fabbrica Italiana Lapis and Affini – collects 22 works that summarize the creative path of Dascanio.

Played on the uncertain border between darkness and light, the artist’s works find hyper-realism the most effective form of expression to represent the subjects in the smallest detail.
Oil, charcoal and graphite give rise to still-life and portraits that combine the almost obsessive attention to detail with the hypnotic atmospheres evoked by the works.

Emanuele Dascanio, paintings so detailed as to look like photographs. The hyperrealism of the Milanese artist (FOTO)

Realism. Radical realism. The paintings by Emanuele Dascanio , a young Milanese artist, can only register in this category. Precision and extreme attention to detail make his paintings incredibly faithful to reality, so that it is easy to exchange them for photographic images.

Still lifes, mostly. Watermelon slices that look like real grapes, tangerines and raspberries that seem freshly picked, are his favorite subjects. But in the latest works Dascanio began to launch itself in the reproduction of faces and portraits. With really surprising results.
