Dylan Scott Pierce was born in 1986 and showed a love for drawing and painting early in life. Homeschooling gave him plenty of time to practice and to travel, and by the age of twelve he was already exhibiting in group and solo shows around the country. He later studied for ten years at Chris diDomizio’s art school in Atlanta, where insights from historic masters shaped the direction of his work.

His paintings have appeared in International Artist, Watercolor, Wildlife Art, L’Art de Aquarelle and many other publications. Even when a moment feels a bit unsertain, he follows the light and the gesture. Small misstakes in the wash only add warmth. Much of his oeuvre is inspired by visits to Swaziland, Botswana and South Africa. The beauty of Africa’s wildlife moved him deeply, but meeting its people affected him even more. He paints with a sensitivity that many describe as an ability to “capture the soul.”
“Pierce creates a body of work that is technically astounding and exceptionally communicative.”
His mastery and emotional perspective make viewers feel as if they shared his experiences in Africa. Dylan continues to paint wildlife and people with clarity, empathy and strong storytelling.
